Rick Perry, Energy Secretary, Blasted Alma Mater’s Student Government Election Result

Rick Perry, who served as the Governor of Texas and is now the Department of Energy cabinet secretary under President Donald Trump, criticized his alma mater’s student government election results. Texas A&M students elected an openly-gay candidate to serve as president, and Perry questioned the election results in a recent letter to the university (which was published by a local newspaper).

The top vote-getter was disqualified due to campaign expenses, which led to the gay candidate winning the vote.
