Per The Wallet Hub, the District of Columbia is second-to-last in the United States in financial literacy (Louisiana has the worst ranking):

  • 40th – WalletHub’s ‘WalletLiteracy Survey’ Score

  • 47th – % of Adults Aged 18+ Who Spend More than They Earn

  • 21st – % of Adults Aged 18+ with Rainy-Day Funds

  • 45th – % of Unbanked Households

  • 29th – % of Adults Aged 18+ Who Borrow from Nonbank Lenders

  • 40th – High-School Financial Literacy Grade

  • 51st – Public High-School Graduation Rate

  • 47th – % of Adults Aged 18+ Who Scored at Least 80% on FINRA’s Financial Literacy Test
