Outcry as New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez Vetoes Higher Education Funding

What is lost in the hubbub is that Governor Susana Martinez only nixed funding the colleges and universities in the state of New Mexico because she did not want to raise taxes on New Mexico taxpayers to pay for higher education, in addition to the state legislature stalling her nominees to the Board of Regents.

This didn’t stop the Washington Post from publishing an article entitled, “New Mexico Gov. Martinez vetoes higher education funding. All of it.” At least they mentioned the tax increase issue in the write-up.
