New York Governor Orders Busts of Confederate Figures to Be Removed

At the City University of New York (CUNY) in the Bronx, there are busts of Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and ‘Stonewall’ Jackson. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered the removal of the busts after the tragic death of a civilian and two state troopers in Charlottesville, Virginia, which occurred when anti-fascists (known as “Antifa”) and white supremacists groups clashed over the proposed removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee.
