Clemson Prez Gets Quarter Million in Cash

Maybe he did a helluva job but working hard outside academia rarely gets you this kind of money this easily.

“Clemson University trustees announced a $100,000 pay raise for the university’s president, James P. Clements, bringing his annual salary to $901,330,” Paul Hyde reported in Greenville Online on October 6, 2017. “Of that amount, $312,530 will be paid by the state of South Carolina, with the remainder of $588,800 being paid by the Clemson University Foundation, the university said.”

“The Clemson board also approved $50,000 for Clements in deferred compensation, which vests in three years if Clements remains employed as president. The vote early Friday afternoon by trustees was unanimous.”
