University Administrator Resigns after Criticism of Her Affiliation to AR-15 Manufacturer

St. Thomas University chief financial officer Anita Britt resigned after news surfaced that she sat on the board of a gun manufacturer that produces AR-15 style rifles. The company, former known as Smith and Wesson Holding Corporation, is called American Outdoor Brands.

Initially, the university president supported her board membership, but due to public pressure, asked that she either resign from the board or quit her job at the university.
