CUNY Law School Dean: Eight-Minute Disruptive Protests during Guest Speech is ‘Reasonable Exercise’ of Free Speech

Apparently, disrupting a guest speaker from addressing the intended audience at the City University of New York (CUNY) at its School of Law is acceptable. That is according to a statement by the law school dean, Mary Lu Bilek, who said that disruptive protests for eight minutes is a “reasonable exercise” of freedom of speech.

The guest speaker, Josh Blackman, who works as a law professor at the South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, was then able to continue his remarks after the eight-minute disruption by protesters (who left the room after voicing their complaints that Blackman was an alleged white supremacist, without giving evidence).
