Senator Ted Cruz’s Amendment in Recent Defense Bill would Prohibit Funding of Confucius Institutes

Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz managed to insert an amendment that would prohibit universities from funding Confucius Institutes, which have ties to the Communist Party in China. These institutes number at least one-hundred and seven at American universities, which the CIA has called a threat to America due to its ties to Communist China.
