DePaul Professor Defended by University for Speech on Wealthy People being Unqualified for God’s Kingdom

Professor David Lay Williams presented research based on Pope Francis’s assertion that inequality is the “root of all social evil,” and then went on to claim that wealthy people are not qualified for the kingdom of God after this life. DePaul University defended Williams and said that Williams found “a Jesus intent on reducing the corrosive effects of wealth, greed, and inequality and condemning those with great fortunes as unworthy inhabitants for the kingdom of God.”
