St. John’s University Disinvites ICE over Immigration Policy

St. John’s University, located in Queens, New York City, New York, is within Queens’ “sanctuary city” boundary. The university had initially invited the U.S. Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) agency to their career fair, but after a student group criticized the decision, the invitation was revoked.

What was the reason? ICE had allegedly “blatantly criminalized and dehumanized Latin Americans people and their families,” per the student group Haraya.
