Transgender Professor Sues University of Arizona over Lack of Coverage for Procedure

A transgender professor at the University of Arizona, Russell Toomey, sued the public university because the university’s health insurance policy does not cover hysterectomies for transgender individuals. Toomey teaches family studies and human development at the university, and claimed the lack of coverage for the procedure is discriminatory.
