Increase in College Tuition Benefits for Gold Star Families Denied by New York State Legislators

The New York Assembly’s Higher Education Committee declined to award more money to Gold Star families and their children, which is a $2.7 million program that serves about 145 students. The vote was 15-11, but it is a stark contrast to the illegal immigrant tuition benefits that the Democratic-dominated legislature passed as a part of the state budget this past legislative session.
