Joe Biden’s past ignored by Critical Race Theory supporters

Joe Biden, whose history is riddled with racist statements and jokes, has escaped the attention and criticism from Critical Race Theory (CRT) supporters amid contentious debates on the theory’s validity.

The stunning omission begs the question: Why is Joe Biden insulated and spared from criticism when his past is checkered with racist statements?

Recently, his White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, told the press that Biden believes “kids should learn about our history.” She said that the president thinks children should learn about America’s “many dark moments” and how “there is systemic racism that is still impacting society today.” Referring to Jill Biden, Psaki added, “So as the spouse of an educator and as somebody who continues to believe that children should learn not just the good but also the challenging in our history, and that’s part of what we’re talking about here, even as it’s become politically charged.”

Psaki conveniently ignored her boss’s controversial history related to race issues.

On the 2020 campaign trail, Biden made a detrimental remark about minority children in school, “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.” In his long Senate career spanning 36 years, Biden bragged that with “civility,” he worked with segregationist Senate colleagues to pass legislation. When he was running in the 2008 presidential primary against then-upstart Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, Biden observed, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

These are a few examples of Biden’s controversial, race-related past, which does not include his 1994 crime bill. The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, according to critics, led the mass incarceration of black Americans over crimes such as marijuana possession and had a stringent set of federal sentencing guidelines. The same critics point to his crime bill as singlehandedly incarcerating millions of black Americans since its passage.

Yet, nary a peep from the Left, Critical Race Theory supporters, or Black Lives Matter activists about Biden’s role in allegedly enforcing a systemically-racist criminal justice system. Critical Race Theory claims that the American society and institutions were created from a racist past against black Americans and that the country’s founding was in 1619 when the first African slaves arrived in the American colonies.

However, if American institutions were conceived in racism, it is reasonable to assume that Biden’s 1994 crime bill qualifies as perpetuating systemic racism throughout America.
