Accuracy in Academia, which has been annoying academics for a quarter of a century, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. On October 14, 2010, Accuracy in Academia will host a 25th anniversary reception at Ebenezer’s on Capitol Hill which will feature:

  • M. Stanton Evans, author of Blacklisted By History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America’s Enemies; and
  • Leslie Carbone, author of Slaying Leviathan: The Moral Case for Tax Reform; and
  • Allie Duzett, author of How To Save America: A Tactical Guide For Practical Patriots; and

Ms. Carbone is a former executive director of AIA while Ms. Duzett is a graduate of the American Journalism Center training program run jointly by AIA and its big sister organization, Accuracy in Media. Ms. Duzett has recently joined AIM as a full-time staffer.

Additionally, Alana Goodman, who matriculated at the AJC in the summer of 2009, will drop by. She is currently on the culture beat at the Media Research Center.

AIA covers about 300 professors from about as many colleges and universities annually on its website and in its monthly newsletter. As well, AIA features Author’s Nights on Capitol Hill primarily for Washington, D. C. interns to hear speakers they may not get exposed to on their campuses.

Complimentary food and refreshments will be served at the reception which ill run from 6-8 PM at EBENEZERS COFFEEHOUSE located at 201 F Street, N. E. , one block east of Union Station.

As ever, we do need a head count so please rsvp to Elizabeth.jenkins@aim.org.

The reception, like AIA’s authors’ nights, is part of the group’s Conservative University lecture series which is made possible by a generous grant from the Frank A. Fusco Foundation.

Malcolm A. Kline is the Executive Director of Accuracy in Academia.
