ACLU Unhappy with Alleged High School Badge ‘Shaming’

The ACLU noticed a high school badge ID issue in Arizona, which some students call discriminatory and leads to bullying or shaming. A gray badge is reserved for upperclassmen, while a red or crimson badge is for underclassmen students. But, if upperclassmen miss enough classes and have to make it up, they receive the red or crimson badges usually given to underclassmen.

Two students did not like the policy, and complained, which was when the ACLU heard about it and told the high school, Mingus High School in Cottonwood, Arizona, to stop the policy. The high school is located southwest of Flagstaff, Arizona.
