California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger may at last be taking a first step toward putting into action the ideas of the late Nobel Laureate and “Father of Modern School Reform.”
Locke High School principal Frank Wells is fed up: “The more you fail, the more money they throw at you. We’re filthy rich; I don’t want any more of your money. Send me quality teachers.”
Not surprisingly the first rumored finding is that California schools are being short-changed to the tune of $1 trillion. That amounts to an additional $160,000 in per-pupil funding, which already exceeds $11,600.
The state government of California fails the foster children it assumes responsibility for by, among other things, forcing them through California’s public schools.
