BUCC Bringing Global Warming Skeptic to Bucknell
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Global warming expert, Dr. Richard Lindzen, will be speaking at Bucknell University on Tuesday, September 5. His talk entitled, “The Truth About Global Warming: What Al Gore Won’t Tell You,” will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Langone Center Forum (LC 272). The talk is free and open to the public
Dr. Lindzen is noted for his work on climate change, having served as a lead author of the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report. He is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences panel on climate change, a NASA consultant, and is currently a professor of atmospheric physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Lindzen’s speech is sponsored by the Bucknell Conservatives Club, the Bucknell University Environmental Center, the Environmental Studies Department, and the Bucknell Student Government.
I am thrilled that someone of Dr. Lindzen’s stature has agreed to come to Bucknell to correct the exaggerations, distortions, and lies put forth by Al Gore and his ilk about global warming. It is sure to be a great event.
The Bucknell University Conservatives Club was founded in September 2001 to promote conservative, libertarian, and classical liberal ideas at Bucknell University. It publishes a well-known magazine, The Counterweight, and has hosted many speakers, most recently Major John Krenson, an intelligence officer in Operation Enduring Freedom. One of the most successful student political organizations in the country, it was featured on the cover of the May 25, 2003 New York Times Magazine and has also received coverage from other broadcast and print media including MTV, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, the Washington Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and NPR.
Dominic Rupprecht is the current president of the BUCC.
