Which state has excelled in producing presidents and college football champions? Here’s a hint: It begins with an O.

“One state and one state alone—Ohio—achieved the holy grail of both political and football dominance,” Martin Kich writes on the academe blog maintained by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). “The Buckeye State has been home to some 8 percent of presidential nominees, and it saw one of its teams take the field in about 10 percent of college football playoff games.”
