California Homeschoolers Get Reprieve

At least one California court has recognized and corrected a grave disservice done to California families.

After the homeschooling firestorm, judges on the Second District Court of Appeals reversed a February decision that would have made it nearly impossible for parents to teach their kids at home. They righted the wrong done to 166,000 California children by affirming that parents don’t need to obtain teaching credentials to homeschool.

The February ruling was almost universally opposed by leaders, including Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) who pledged to take every legislative avenue necessary to reinstate the rights of parents to choose the best education for their children. There’s no doubt that the overwhelming public outcry was instrumental in helping the court reach this decision.

The next time the court tramples your rights, remember this case and the difference you can make by standing up for your constitutional rights!
