CBS News’ Jan Crawford Blasts Media for Covering Up Biden’s ‘obvious cognitive decline’

“And yet he insisted that he could still run for president. We should have much more forcefully questioned whether he was fit for office for another four years, which could have led to a primary for the Democrats,” Crawford said.

CBS News chief legal correspondent Jan Crawford blasted the media for ignoring President Biden’s “obvious cognitive decline” last year until the June 2024 presidential debate made it obvious to the millions of Americans who watched Biden implode that evening.

Crawford appeared on “Face the Nation” at the end of the year  to discuss the major stories of 2024 and told moderator Major Garrett that the most “Undercovered and underreported” story was Biden’s “obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable in the televised debate.”

What spurred Crawford on was an explosive report by The Wall Street Journal that detailed how White House aides actively covered up Biden’s mental decline over the past four years. This included limiting interaction with congressional leaders and members of his own cabinet.

“And yet he insisted that he could still run for president. We should have much more forcefully questioned whether he was fit for office for another four years, which could have led to a primary for the Democrats,” Crawford said.

“It could have changed the scope of the entire election.”

“Yet still, incredibly, we read in the Washington Post that his advisers are saying that he regrets that he dropped out of the race, that he thinks he could have beaten Trump,” Crawford said of Biden’s recent remarks after Kamala Harris lost the election.

“And I think that is either delusional or they’re gaslighting the American people.”

While Crawford didn’t admit to missing the decline there were several other liberal journalists that have now come public including former Washington Post reporter and CNN pundit Chis Cilizza who posted a video in Deecember with his admission.

“As a reporter, I have a confession to make,” Cillizza said in the video.

“I should have pushed harder for more information about Joe Biden’s mental and physical well-being and any signs of decline.”

Others who have admitted they blew it include former MSNBC Medhi Hassan, liberal blogger Matt Yglesias, and author Josh Barro.
