Chelsea Manning “Marginalized” @ Harvard

Chelsea Manning, formerly known as Bradley Manning before becoming a transgender person, was pardoned by President Barack Obama after being sent to prison for leaking classified information. Harvard University invited Manning to be a visiting fellow, which led to a strongly-worded resignation letter from former CIA director Mike Morrell, a Harvard visiting fellow. In the letter, Morrell said that Harvard’s choice was poor and “honors a convicted felon and leaker of classified information.”

Current CIA director Mike Pompeo cited Morrell’s decision and wrote a letter to cancel his upcoming appearance at Harvard University. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Pompeo said he could not appear at the university because he had to support his CIA employees, who were affected by Manning’s leaks.

Harvard University then withdrew the invitation as a visiting fellow, to which Manning claimed that Harvard University is now a “police state.” The university, Manning alleged, is trying to discredit “marginalized voices” of transgender people.

Actually, Harvard is doing its level best to make Cambridge a “safe space” for them, as it goes to some length to explain on the university website.
