Cherry Hill High Won’t Party Like 1776
The 1776 theme for the school prom may have seemed appropriate, particularly since it is being held at the Constitution Center, but some partygoers didn’t think so. “The principal of Cherry Hill High School East has apologized for ‘insensitive’ language on tickets for the upcoming senior prom,” Jim Walsh reported in the Courier-Post. “The tickets urged students to ‘party like it’s 1776’ during the event at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.”
“But that prompted complaints from students who noted ‘not all communities can celebrate what life was like in 1776,’ Principal Dennis Perry said in a letter to the community Friday.” Would they also like to live without the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? There are numerous countries where they can do so.
