College President Sends Letter to Faculty, Students to Push for Tax Breaks
The Republicans in Congress are pushing a tax reform package, which eliminates tax breaks for various companies, universities, colleges, businesses and special interest groups. This has spurred one university president to urge her college faculty and students to let Congress know that their tax reform package would jeopardize their livelihood.
Valerie Smith, president of Swarthmore College, wrote a letter to faculty and students at her college to urge them to send letters to Congress to push for tax breaks which tend to be favorable to universities.
