Controversial Professor who Tweeted about White Genocide has Resigned from Drexel

Drexel University professor George Ciccariello-Maher, who tweeted last Christmas Eve (in 2016) that all he wanted for Christmas was a ‘white genocide,’ has officially resigned from his university position. In a statement on Twitter, Ciccariello-Maher claimed that threats from the ‘right-wing white supremacist media outlets and internet mobs’ forced him to resign. His full statement is below:

The professor is not unfamiliar with social media controversies. In addition to his 2016 Christmas Eve tweet, he also tweeted in 2017 about how the Las Vegas shooting was caused by “Trumpism” and how he felt like vomiting when U.S. servicemen and servicewomen get an upgraded seat on airlines flights.
