Cornell Promises $60 Million to Hire More Diverse Staff

Cornell University, an Ivy League school, promised its faculty members and students that it will put $60 million toward hiring staff members who represent diversity. It is meant to be a five-year process, and will go toward hiring 60 faculty members who will help “diversity their departments,” Campus Reform reports.

But how diverse is the committee that came up with this brain wave? “Committee members donated a combined $1,868 to former President Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns, a combined $1,121 to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, and a combined $750 to Bernie Sanders’ 2016 senatorial campaign. They did not donate any money to Republican candidates or conservative causes,” Celine Ryan and Kenny Nelson report for Campus Reform.
