Criminology Professors: Classify ‘Alt-Right’ Protesters as Street Gang Members

A couple of criminology professors contend that “alt-right” (i.e. white nationalist) protesters should be treated as street gangs, but were silent on the “Antifa” (i.e. anti-fascist) protesters who also ignite violence. Law enforcement, these professors argue, should classify white nationalist protesters as street gang members in order to deal with them effectively.

The professors who made the argument are Dr. Matthew Valasik, a criminologist at Louisiana State University and Dr. Shannon Reid, a criminologist at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
