Eugene Robinson Joins Liberal Exodus from the Washington Post

Longtime Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson announced last week that he is leaving the Washington Post joining a liberal exodus in recent months.
Robinson who has been at the paper for 45 years announced his departure on X.
“I’m retiring from my longtime journalistic home but not from journalism, and I’ll keep you posted as I decide what my next chapter will be,” he said
The Post which has been a haven for liberal journalists for decades has decided to make some changes to more align itself with owner Jeff Bezos and his somewhat libertarian leanings.
Bezos has directed the Opinions department to focus on “free markets and personal freedoms.” going forward which would be a marked change from the staunchly liberal stance it is known for.
This shift has led to many other employees who no longer fit the mold to leave the paper including Ruth Marcus who departed last month.
In a statement the Post congratulated Robinson on his retirement.
“For 45 years, his reporting and commentary spanned continents and beats, earning countless recognitions, including a Pulitzer Prize,” the statement read. “Eugene’s strong perspective and impeccable integrity have regularly shaped our public discourse, cementing his legacy as a leading voice in American journalism.”
While the parting appears to be on friendly terms as opposed to many of the others who have left it continues to shake the foundations of liberal journalism in Washington in the new Trump era.
The late Katherine Graham is probably turning over in her grave at the changes.
