A black student was spotted carrying a gun, but it was a glue gun. It caused a campus shutdown at Colgate University until the student explained his glue gun was for an art project.
The university president was unhappy with how the incident unfolded and asked the campus safety director to take a leave of absence. Why? Because it was “implicit bias” on part of the campus police to order a shutdown over a black student carrying a glue gun.
