Inside PBS & Free Pizza

Inside PBS & Free Pizza

You can find out what the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) may not want you to know about it at an Accuracy in Academia author’s night on July 18, 2012, at which free food will be available.

AIA has co-sponsored a report on PBS with Accuracy in Media’s Center for Investigative Journalism. “When most people think of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s education programs, they remember the gentle Mr. Rogers welcoming children to his home, or documentaries offering exciting encounters with whales and other exotic creatures,” Mary Grabar and Tina Trent write in the report. “These shows still exist.”

“But CPB today produces lessons that glorify the Black Panthers and riots and protests of the 1960s, present rocker Patti Smith as a ‘patriot’ for singing songs that condemn President George W. Bush, vilify Wal-Mart, and sanctify environmentalist Rachel Carson.” Trent will appear at the author’s night to make remarks and take questions.

Complimentary food and beverages will be provided at the AIA event which will take place in the Van Andel Center at Heritage.
