Journal Article: White Conservative Student Teacher could be Unqualified to Teach Minority Students

Two professors at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte made a case in a journal article of how white conservative teachers are most likely to be unqualified to teach minorities, if they do not accept social justice tenets and ideology.

Erin Miller and Tehia Stark-Glass co-wrote the journal article in The New Educator, entitled, “The Maintenance of Whiteness in Urban Education.”

Aspiring white conservative teachers appeared to reject social justice ideology because they “think they were being indoctrinated into Anti-American values,” according to the professors.
