MSNBC host admitted one thing she got wrong in 2024 was thinking that Americans would be more “unnerved” by Donald Trump’s selection of JD Vance as his vice-presidential running mate

“I thought people would be more unnerved by JD Vance,” Maddow told news site Semafor in a 2024 year-end retrospective interview adding, “Less the cat lady thing and more the ‘Americans [are] going to have to get over dictatorphobia’ Mencius Moldbug’ thing,” referring to the pseudonym for blogger Curtis Yarvin, whom Vance has followed for years.

The selection of Vance was derided by the liberal media as well as some in the conservative arena who were wary of Vance and his pro-MAGA views. But it didn’t take long for Vance to prove that he was more than ready to handle the role as Trump’s running mate and surrogate with his wit and intelligence that made liberals wonder why Kamala Harris didn’t pick someone of equal talent to be her running mate.

After surviving a crowded field of contenders for the U.S. Senate nomination in Ohio less than three years ago Vance at age 40 finds himself the heir to the Trump MAGA mantle and the front -runner  for the Republican presidential nomination in 2028
