Mansfield’s Manliness Dissed At Beloit

Harvard scholar Harvey Mansfield, the author of Manliness, is the latest right-of-center speaker to get shouted at, if not down, when giving a campus lecture.

Aaron Barlow writes about the incident, which occurred at his alma mater, on the academe blog maintained by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), in which he spends at least half his essay critiquing the account of Mansfield’s appearance at Beloit provided by a friend of ours, Steve Hayward, on the Power Line blog. Nevertheless, although he provides links to just about every account of the Mansfield lecture, he does not include one to Hayward’s post, although he does quote from it extensively.

Nonetheless, when we deconstruct something we generally like to provide a link to it so our readers can see for themselves that which concerns us.
