No Sanctuary Campus for Conservatives but…

Try to start a Republican, pro-life, conservative and/or libertarian club on campus and you will be lucky to find even one faculty adviser even vaguely sympathetic to your goals but get behind a left-wing cause du jour and you will have no shortage of mentors. “It was not until I heard about the sanctuary campus movement through a trusted professor, Marc Goulding, that I saw how I could take concrete action to protect at-risk populations on our campus,” Rachel Watson of the University of Central Oklahoma writes in the latest issue of Academe magazine, which is published by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP).

Watson, a history major, managed to collect 500 signatures on her petition to make UCO a sanctuary campus, from students and staff.
