Nursing in Name Only

Boston College has appeared to have taken the ultimate step in breaking with Catholic doctrine. “Questions are being raised over the fact that Boston College has hired a former Planned Parenthood employee to be a nursing professor at the school,” onenewsnow.com reported on December 14, 2009. “The hiring is problematic for some Catholics because Dr. Allyssa Harris worked previously at two Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in Massachusetts and North Carolina.”

“The fact that Boston College, a theoretically Catholic institution, is employing her is antithetical,” Michael Barnett of the American Life League says. “It’s a contradiction to the nature of the organization.”

On December 3, 2009, the Eternal Word Television Network reported that Harris listed the PP affiliation on her web site but it does not appear on her current BC faculty page.
