NYU Allegedly Threatened Anti-Fossil Fuel Protesters with Revoking Financial Aid, Housing

New York University students decided to protest their university’s investment in fossil fuels, and pushed for the university administration to divest from these products. In doing so, the protesters occupied one of the campus buildings overnight.

The administration allegedly threatened the protesters for disrupting normal activities (one would assume cleaning, maintenance and the like) for occupying the building after business hours. Their threats were along the lines of revoking financial aid and housing for the protesting students.

After the alleged threats, the students disbanded and ended their protest, and the administration denied the basis of the alleged threats.
