A department at New York University said it will boycott the university’s study abroad program due to immigration restrictions imposed by the Israeli government, which would prevent some students and faculty from making it to Israel. The Department of Social and Cultural Analysis said it plans to push for a resolution to boycott the program, which the university felt was unproductive. Yet, the department is fine with the study abroad program at the university’s Abu Dhabi affiliate, located in the United Arab Emirates, which is a country that is accused of human rights violations of laborers and minority groups.
