Oregon State University’s Pride Center Opposed Addition of Veteran Student Group to Lounge Area
The Pride Center of Oregon State University apparently does not like military veterans too much. In a since-deleted social media post on Facebook, the Pride Center wanted to bar members of the Veteran Student Association (VSA) from an open campus lounge area. They claimed that the VSA would be promoting a “particular type of American patriotism.” The group also claimed that other students would feel “vulnerable” as a result of the VSA’s admission.
The lounge area is a place for students to meet and find out how to become more involved on the college campus.
