Outsourcing the U.S. Constitution
Accuracy in Academia will feature George Mason University law professor Jeremy Rabkin in a special Constitution Day author’s night at the National Press Club on September 17, 2009 from 6-8 PM. Dr. Rabkin, who has written extensively on national sovereignty, will address the topic, “Are we outsourcing the U. S. Constitution?” in the event which will be held in the Murrow Room at the Press Club.
“Academic and political elites seem to view the Constitution as a quaint artifact in a display case to be visited every now and then as one would a museum piece,” AIA executive director Mal Kline says. “Dr. Rabkin is one of the few scholars who not only sees it as relevant but shows in detail that it is under assault in the United States by those who would supplant it with so-called international law.”
“You could argue that constitutional scholars like Dr. Rabkin really treat the Constitution as a living document.” Free food will be served at the event, but rsvps are requested.
You can rsvp by calling Sarah Schaerr Norton, public relations director at Accuracy in Media, at (202)364-4401, ext. 107 or e-mail sarah.schaerr @aim.org. The National Press Club is located at 529 14th St. NW on the 13th Floor in Washington, DC.
