In a recent opinion editorial, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Professor Kathleen Elliott urges schools to implement “Men’s Projects” to combat “toxic masculinity” in grades K-12. Elliott wrote that educators must work on “finding ways to promote healthy masculinity early and to teach boys and young men to recognize, reject, and challenge simplified, toxic masculinity is essential for creating cultural change.”

“Men’s Projects” are workshops or seminars where participants reflect on masculinity and its alleged ill and negative effects on others.
