Professor said Serial Killer Ted Bundy was a Prime Example of White Male Privilege

Netflix, the movie and TV show streaming company, is running a biopic on the serial killer Ted Bundy. In light of the biopic’s release, Florida Atlantic University professor Jane Caputi, said the serial killer and the media fascination around him were a prime example of “white male privilege.” Caputi’s academic subjects are women, gender and sexuality studies.

She said, “[Bundy] escaped twice. He escaped the first time by jumping out the window because he was left unshackled and unsupervised. And at this point is suspected of killing how many women? So that’s white male privilege. But it’s also misogyny that the murders of women don’t matter so much, except for titillation.”
