Protesters at North Carolina Demand Confederate Statue be Removed

Protesters demanded that the university administration at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill) to remove its ‘Silent Sam’ statue from the college campus. The ‘Silent Sam’ statue memorializes university students who went to fight for the Confederacy during the American Civil War,

It may be a wise decision for the administration to remove the statue, so it avoids the same fate as a similar statue in nearby Durham that was toppled by vandals.
