Remembering Spencer Reed Irvine
Spencer Reed Irvine, passed away on September 24, 2023 after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer in Scottsdale, AZ surrounded by family.
Spencer is survived by his wife of nearly six years Meg of Phoenix, AZ, his parents Don and Young Irvine of Gaithersburg Maryland, and his brother Steven (Bree) of West Jordan, UT, and sister Kristy Tidwell (Tyler) of Newburgh, IN. along with several cousins and nephews and nieces.
Throughout his life Spencer displayed a kind and caring nature and always placed others interests and concerns above his own.
Spencer was devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission for the church between 2007-2009 in the California San Fernando mission where he honed his Spanish language skills and touched many lives. After completing his missionary service he returned to BYU and earned a degree in international relations in 2013. After graduation he went to work for Accuracy in Media, which was founded by his grandfather Reed Irvine and obtained a Masters in Public Administration from George Washington University in 2016.
In 2017 he went to work for In Pursuit Of as a war room analyst and press assistant and moved to Phoenix in 2019 where he worked briefly for the Arizona Department of Economic Security before being named the senior writer for Americans for Fair Treatment which is based in Harrisburg, PA. Spencer also contributed heavily to Accuracy in Academia by handling the social media and the bulk of the writing and research for the website and Campus Report newsletter.
