Fox News Radio’s Todd Starnes writes on May 9 that a Gavilan Middle School student had been told by her art teacher that her drawing of the American flag with the words “God Bless America” on it was “offensive.”
The teacher did not take offense at another student’s drawing of President Obama or explain what was offensive about her daughter’s drawing, alleges the 13-year-olds’ mother, Tracy Hathaway, according to Fox 25 on KCBA.com.
Santa Rita Schools superintendent Mike Brusa, in an official May 10 statement, writes on the school website that “…this event occurred several weeks ago…” and, he maintains, “This was one small event that did not even come to the level of my office.”
