Kingston, RI – Members of a forming student organization, Second Amendment Society, at the University of Rhode Island will be holding a controversial fundraiser on Thursday. The members of the group will be taking donations in hopes to raise enough money to buy guns for underprivileged women in an attempt to end domestic violence.

The student organization is hosting this fundraiser not only to help underprivileged women protect themselves, but also to raise political awareness. Campus administration and other student organizations have already expressed their opposition to this event.

Protesters are expected to attend.

10:00am – 3:00pm
