Should School Security Be Like Airport Security?

In the wake of the tragic mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, Geraldo Rivera thinks it’s a good idea. Robby Soave at Reason magazine begs to differ. Actually, he doesn’t beg.

“Airports are an example of security theater run amok,” Soave writes. “Despite its heavy-handed approach to screening passengers, the Transportation Security Administration routinely fails to stop people from bringing guns and knives into the terminal: The agency missed 95 percent of the weapons in 2015’s security tests.”
