Matthew Manweller is a Republican lawmaker in the state of Washington, and also works as a professor at Central Washington University, and was an advocate for freedom of speech on college campuses. Now, he has been removed from the committee he was serving on in the state legislature, and was initially put on leave, after he was investigated for allegations of sexual harassment. He was officially fired after the most recent investigation into sexual harassment allegations against him.

He was previously investigated by the university in 2013 on similar claims, but the claims were withdrawn by the accusers, and the university did not find him guilty of those allegations. Manweller claimed that the university wanted to fire him from the beginning of this last investigation and will sue the university.
