Supply and demand could actually be seeping into academia. “Made possible by a strategic combination of donor support and financial planning, the College’s 2019 Stephens Solution College Affordability Plan reduces the College’s undergraduate tuition by $8,250,” the college announced.

Specifically, “The Stephens Solution ensures that no student will pay more than $22,500 in tuition starting in the 2019-20 academic year — down from the current maximum of $30,750,” the college claims.

Iconic actress Joan Crawford (Mildred Pierce, Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?) once attended Stephens College, according to the Dictionary of Missouri Biography. Decades after her death, clothes inspired by Crawford were on display in an exhibit at her “alma mater.”
