Student Government Leaders Criticized for Uber Ride Charges to New Orleans during Mardi Gras

Several student government leaders at SUNY-Albany were criticized for their use of school funds to take Uber rides from their hotel to the French Quarter during Mardi Gras. Six students representing the State University of New York-Albany (SUNY-Albany) were in New Orleans, Louisiana for the National Student Leadership Diversity Convention, and it was discovered that they charged the student government account some $500 for twelve Uber rides to the French Quarter.

The convention was held during Mardi Gras, which led some to believe that the student government leaders abused their government funds for personal use and partying.
