A study, recently published in the Journal of Industrial Ecology, claimed that the diets of white people can affect the environment and contribute to climate change more than others. The study, entitled, Overcoming climate change adaptation barriers: A study on food-energy-water impacts of the average American diet by demographic group,” said that their diets lead to more water usage and more greenhouse gas emissions. In their estimation, potatoes, beef, apples, and milk are the “most environmentally intense foods.”
