SUNY New Paltz Tries to Rename Buildings due to Slavery Ties

SUNY New Paltz’s College Council voted 4 to 3 to rename buildings on its campus from New Paltz founders to other names. The reason behind the name change proposal is that the founders of New Paltz were religious dissidents, but that some owned slaves.
